Despite good intentions, I'm a little behind but April and May will be rolled together in a blog as April walks manly took place locally, at the beach (see previous blogs) or in beautiful Tuscany. Drop a comment below if you would like to know more about walking in this beautiful Italian region.

Anyway, I love walking in March, not least because it is my birthday month. I always feel buoyed by the new shoots, lambs and promise of new growth and life. Maybe resolutions should start in March as it definitely puts a spring in my step. A couple of suggestions from this month. One near to Leeds and one a bit further afield.

Harlow Carr to Harrogate town centre through the pine woods and back - 3 miles

What a little gem of a walk. It isn't long but was all I could manage as I recovered from flu! Park at Harlow Carr in any of their carparks and then follow the signpost and well made path through the pine woods. After not too long, you arrive at the Valley Gardens in Harrogate and then you have the delights of Harrogate to explore before returning - fat rascal at Betty's, anyone? A map can be found here, though navigation isn't difficult.

The Pinewoods

Llandudno West Shore - 4 miles

It won't come as any surprise, if you have been following slaynt.com for a while, that the next walk in the mix is a beach walk. This was our first foray into coastal walking in Wales due to the proximity to the eldest at university and it won't be our last. Beautiful, unspoilt coastline with mountain vistas; a sunny Spring day helped too. We walked about 4 miles but we could have incorporated the town and walked much further. Have an explore if you haven't already! Walking ideas for the area can be found here.

Where have you been walking? Hope it has been gorgeous, wherever you have explored!
